There are a lot of places to rent a car, probably you find the best cars from airport but I took a cheaper one from Auto Berlin (Apartementos Coral Beach). B class Renault Clio with AC cost 94€/3 days. All insurances included with no own risk. They booked me up from hotel and I was allowed to leave the car to hotel too, quite easy. Motto: "Pick up oil level when returning". And E95 was between 91-94c.

There a a lot of small supermarkets around the town but this has wide selection and prices are reasonabe. And you can take slices Jamon Serrano with you (sliced 12-15€/kg). Wine and beer too, 12pack of Dorada was 3,22€!!!

As in most beach areas there are many kind of sellers around. Here are sellers who start to sell you watches and similarly there is a possibility to pickpocketing by seller's friend. One evening we witnessed situation where 5 police arrested one of these robber boys.

(Police is quite visible in the area, you can't walk/drive 15 minutes without seeing one.)

They are everywhere. See my notes on Fuengirola and how you might respond. A simple NO thankyou is too complicated for some. I am not sure whether its the "N" or the "O" that confuses them.

Unique Suggestions: They are everywhere - "Oh you're British" is the usual cry!

Fun Alternatives: Say NO thankyou and walk away. Don't engage - no eye to eye contact and under no circumstances respond to jibes.

Trecking in Teide national Park

If you are not scared to heights and in good shape and condition, take a walking trip in Teide.

Parque Nacional de las Cañadas del Teide includes an enormous volcanic crater (48 km) which rises Mount Teide (3 718 metres) and it's the highest peak in the Spain.

The park itself lies at around 6,562 feet (2,000 metres) above sea level and in winter can be covered in snow. Temperatures during this time often drop to below freezing, while in the summer months they frequently go above 40 C.

The best way to reach the highest point of the peak is by cable car. Once at the top, you can walk around and take in the amazing sights. Here, you are almost at the summit but the only way to reach the mouth of the volcano is to get permission beforehand (contact the national park’s office in web where you can apply the permit).

Or take an alternative, guided walks up the volcano are available (takes about six hours).

From top you can see Gran Canaria , La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.

Favorite thing: This is quite general tip and if you are non drinking or below 18, skip this.

You need to travel with right company (this is from Tuj/Finnmatkat/Air Finland), so if you are lucky you can purchase this perfect package. Beer and spirits are cheap in Canarians, so take it to home as advance order to plane. There is all you need for starting a small bar: 2 sparkling wine, 4 Famous Grouse, 2 Bacardi, 4 Gordons, 2 Havana Club, 2 Jägermeister, 2 Baileys, 2 Gammel Dansk, 4 Smirnog, Pepsi, Bloody Mary, Tonic and 7Up. Total package price 29,90€ (and if you count it in Finnish prices, you get about twice as much.
