If there is one thing that Masca has going for it, it is the stunning views. From the top of the valley down, towards the village and from there along the valley floor towards the sea are some stunning views that you would never associate with Tenerife if you hadn`t seen them with your own eyes. There is walk down to the sea from the village if you...more
Masca has lots of different restaurants. They offer local food as well as the usual "international" food. One thing all of the restaurants have in common are the high prices....
On the picture the building at the top is one of the restaurants.
There are two very narrow and bendy roads leading to Masca.
So probably you will get there using a car, it's a nice drive if you like bendy and narrow mountain roads. If you don't like that kind of driving it will be a nightmare!
There are organised Coach tours to Masca too. And of course there is the public bus wich will get you there cheap and safe.
Another way to get there is a boat from Los Gigantes to the Masca valley and then a 4 hour walk.

I'm sure there are a few off the beaten paths there....
Sorry, I know this tip isn't worth much, but I didn't find any off the beaten paths...
Favorite thing: Try to get there early or in the afternoon. The Village is only small and around midday the most tourists are there and make the place a bit crowded.
