All sporting events,live music,I watched all the world cup 2002 Irish football matches in this bar. The saddest moment was when Spain beat Ireland on penalties.Never seen so many grown adults cry. If women want to walk about topless in the blistering heat of the bar,then the landlord agreed with me that they should be allowed,ney encouraged to do so at every oppatunity,
This is me sitting in the Beercan.....i always drunk a Quantrotres ( a nice local liqur) and Peter always Heineken lager...hmmm i wanna go back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The music is very Dutch, so if you are a foreigner....i think it will sound very strange to you.
'T Biervat (the beercan) is one of our favorite spots on the island. The owners were Piet and Lia (Lia is gone now) and we always had a great time. Very Dutch and there is a sign outside : You can make you skates sharp again overhere, and that brings a lot of Dutch people cause we love to skate (but the winters are not cold enough). Just what you want.
There is plenty of lively nightlife in Gran Canaria, and loads of bars. You have a massive choicea and most are split into area's called centers. There is the british centre, the jumbo centre,the plazza centre and on!!!All the centers have different qualities, you can catch a drag show at the jumbo centre, and the plazza is more for clubbers, once your there you learn which is for you, There isn't really a dress code, maybe a little srict with guys taking their shirts off in clubs but that's about it.
LOS CRISTIANOS DOES NOT HAVE MUCH OF A NIGHTLIFE FOR A TYPICAL CLUBBER - GO TO PLAYA DE LA AMERICAS. HOWEVER LOS CRISTIANOS IS A FAB PLACE FOR A FINE MEAL ACCOMPANIED WITH A FAB,YET CHEAP, BOTTLE OF VINO, RELAXING!MANY PUBS AND CLUBS HAVE THE OBLIGATORY KARAOKE WITH CABARET, GO AND SEE! - MY HUSBAND WAS MORE THAN SUPRISED WITH THE FABULOUS NIGHTS OUT THAT WE HAD IN LC CASUAL AND COMFY - BUT BE WARNED IT REALLY COOLS DOWN AT NIGHT!
Playas las Americas - TenerifeIt is a strip filled with bars, restaurants and clubs.Food and entertainment galore which is generally aimed at the young at heart. Anything goes. One night the whole hen party went out as naughty nurses!
There are too many clubs to mention but try and avoid Veronicas as there is a lot of trouble around there.The best that i have been to is Oscars named after theworld famous award ceramony.It is easily found as it has two forty foot gilted statues standing over the door way.Every night there are awards given out to best dressed and best dancer etc.Go and try to get your very own oscar! Smart but casual is acceptable but most people dress up in their best clubbing outfits.
Cowboys and Angels.this bar is a gay bar but I am not gay and found it very easy to make friends and blend in.Each saturday they have a drag show which you shouldn't miss.Also try Chaplains for a really good drag show every tuesday and friday and saturday night!the quality oof the shows put on by both bars are to be unrivelled by any others. Any dress is acceptable for either bar.
Puerto del Carmen is a much better nightlife spot than anywhere else in Lanzarote. As it is the main town on the island you will find more of a mix of people rather than just the natives. Sometimes it feels a bit like you're imposing on the natives' discotheques if you go elsewhere. Wear what you want! There are loads of tourists there as well as locals so anything goes.
Sound of Ministry or Sound of Cream (next to each other) - Veronica's 1, Tenerife.For the young, or young at heart, Veronica's is packed full of pubs and clubs which are open until dawn. Although drinks are more expensive than usual (best to head right along the beach first to get the cheap drinks in), they played some great dance music and were very clean and tidy. We never went in anywhere that required a dress code, though I went out with shoes, trousers and casual shirt with a collar.
