Terrace Marquesa: Spanish entertainment and drinks
This is an outside terrace area that forms part of the Hotel Marquesa. Luckily we discovered it as soon as we got to PDLC and went probably every second night. The atmosphere was wonderful - a great spot to sit and watch the people passing from the harbour area to the main square. We only saw a handful of other English people here and occasionally some German people but this is very much a Spanish domain. The staff have only basic English and the prices are a little higher than in some places in town but you do get authentic Spanish entertainment each night from a man and woman expertly playing Spanish guitars and singing presumably well known Spanish songs. We did recognise El Condor Passa (by Simon and Garfunkel) and in the unlikely event they read this it was me who requested it on our last night in town.
You must visit to listen to the music and sample the atmosphere. The walk to the toilets is through an impressive Canarian interior balconied area. The toilets are OK but as always in this town lacking in simple things like soap and hand drying facilities.
