Coming down from the mountains from the direction of Ayamosna, you can see some magnificent views (weather permitting). Here the Teide volcano of Tenerife in the backround and the town of San Sebastian beneath. It was breathtaking! Sorry about the poor quality of the shot, its a frame from a video.

High above the town of San Sebastian de la Gomera, you can see this statue looking towards the west. I was told it was donated by the city of Rio de Janeiro.

This is the well from which - it is said - Columbus took water to fill the supplies of his ships before sailing off to the west to the unknown to discover a new route to India. (He, of course, never knew that he'd actually find a new continent). Nice little museum at the center of San Sebastian with three rooms and models of the ships of Columbus. It's also said that Columbus stayed here and slept in one of the rooms. It was crowded with several groups of tourists when I was visiting so I didn't feel lonely...
