It gets windy down by the seafront. We were at the Auditorio/Lido area and the wind was so strong it almost blew us off our feet - and being so close to the sea that wasn't a good idea!
In the city, amongst its streets it didn't seem so windy, the buildings sheltered us, but at night on the top floor of our hotel we really feared something was going to blow away (particulalry the building!). We got no sleep that night (not really from fear, but from the constant noise of the howlong gales).
