On every sunday morning Teguise turns from a sleepy town into a bustling market.
Here you can buy anything from traditional lace tablecloths to fake designer watches.
The large square behind the church becomes a large beer garden with mainly German and British beer and foodstalls.
The market closes at about 2:00pm for siesta.

The old capitol of Lanzarote is a worth a visit, especially on sundays when there is a huge market.
If you want to see more of the usual Teguise you better choose another day.

This pub had a karaoke every night and basically was open until the last person left (so pretty much 24/7)
If you are a good singer, they will give you and your mates free drink if you stay and entertain the crowds and if you come back other nights. It was great! Was strange having people coming up to me at 3am as i ate chips on the beach, asking where i would be singing the next night!
The compere was great, some places dont like other people getting the limelight but he was such a good sport and nice bloke

Most of the hotels and travel agents offer bus trips to the market which vary in price from € 6.00 to € 8.00 for the round trip. Local buses are much cheaper and run from all the major resorts, but there can be a bit of a cram on the bus. Local buses are very up to date and comfortable.
I had a rental car so I didn't have this problem. There are plenty of car parks around the town at a cost of € 1.50. I managed to find a spot on the street so it didn't cost me .
