This is a village in the middle of the malpais which miraculously managed to escape the volcanic eruptions of 1730-6. It is like an oasis in the middle of the desrt. All around the village you can see the black larva trails which narrowly missed the village.
Mount Teidi was very nice so glad we went to see, but went in t-shirt big mistake and you need trainers on your feet. There is also a long queue for the cable car and not much shade as you wait so make sure you take some shade and plenty of water. Also make sure you have your vid, cam pics do not capture the place at all.
La Gomera is a small and beautiful island not very well-known or famous. But it´s very worthy. There, you have a spectacular view of Tenerife (actually, what you can see is Teide, the highest mountain all over Spain).In this picture, you can see La Gomera, during one of the beautiful sunset in Tenerife.
And if you liked the Dolphines in Loro Parque , why not try a Dolphin safari . We joined a boat which advertised with Dolphine safari , and dolphines we saw . It must have been a herd of 8-9 individes , which played joyful around the boat.
While in Loro Parque , Tenerife , see the Delphine show and The Sea Lions . I enjoyed the delphin show very much , and I took almost an hours video film of them. It is a show I gladly would see again.
A visit to the magnificient Loro Parque is recomended . The park itself is fantastic , so are the birds , the gorillas , the fishes , the delpine show and the sealions show . It is easy to spend more than one day there.
We went up here on an island roundtrip with the travelagency . The outlook is fantastic , in the area there are also several vulcanic caves we were guided through , and the most magnificent park you my think of .
There are dayly guided bus tours around in the National park . Some places the ground are still hot . At the tourist center on top , they threw a bucket of water into a hole in the ground , and that imidiately resulted in a steaming Geysir , you my also have a barbecue party up there , with no other heat than the ground provides.
Since I started this page with a picture of the vulcano Teide on Tenerife , I follow up with a picture of the rock formation Gods Finger inside the old Teide crater . A guided tour up on the vulcano is highly recomended , spend a day there , you won't forget it .
There are fields of cactus around the villages of Guatiza and Mala to the north of Costa Teguise. It ised to be cultivated as a home to a cochineal beetle, whose larva is used to produce a bright red dye. These days the use of artificial dyes has led to a decline in the number of plants that are cultivated.
