You will most definately need...
  • Tip Rating:
  • You will most definately need a car. most of the resorts are spread out and with nothing but dust and rock tracks between them.
Our resort was small and didn't have much in the way of super markets and shops, and the journey on foot to the nearest resort took a good 20 minute hike across not so good terrain.(no good for push chairs or elderly)but took 5 mins in the car. Lazy I know but in that sizzling heat it almost killed me!

    Best beach Puerto Rico

We used taxis for most of the time we were in Puerto Rico mainly due to having a two-year old with us. From where we stayed near the Europa Centre, it was about £2 to get to the nice beach.

  • Tip Rating:
  • We did most of the things walking or by bus, cause the shops are nearby and the beach is 15 minutes with the bus. And if you walk you can see the most beautiful things.

  • Tip Rating:
  • The neighbouring island of Lanzarote can be reached by ferry from Corralejo in around 40 minutes. It is well worth the trip.
The Montañas del Fuego (Fire Mountains), the heart of Lanzarote, are like a moonscape. Many science fiction films have been shot here.
    There are more than 100 volcanoes on approx. 50 square kilometres;
they arose during the great eruptions 1730-36.
In 1968, the region was declared a national park, the Parque Nacional de Timanfaya. There is a team of camels to take visitors on an excursion into the world of the volcanoes.

  • Tip Rating:
  • The best way is by plane. You can island hop around the canaries, they are all relatively close together. Ferry services go from Tenerife to La Gomera and to Gran Caneria.
The local buses on Tenerife are excellent and very cheap.

  • Tip Rating:
  • I work for Star Tour, and will recomend you to buy a ticket of them.... But you can also buy a plane- ticket only and find a place to stay when you get there!!
You have alot of choices! It is not very expencive to rent a car, or take a taxi or the local bus witch goes around in south very often!!
You can also rent a bicycle, it is very popular!!

  • Tip Rating:
  • There are many scheduled flights departing from the UK, which fly directly to the four largest Canary Islands. You can fly direct from Gatwick, Stansted, Luton, Norwich, Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff, Birmingham and East Midlands airports.
Hire a car to see the best of what each island has to offer. The more remote regions have some real jewels to offer in terms of culture, scenery and gastronomic delights.
