Beaches out of tourists track

by LanaFromRiga

Cantabra region is full of tourists unknown beaches. It is nice because it is a great possibility to enjoy the beauty of nature alone or with your darling. The Frnca beach is almost in the eastern border with Asturias region. All beaches have direction signs and you'll find them without problems.

The Ason Valley

by DanielF

All the Cantabrian rivers that flow into the Atlantic are short and impetuous, with cold and prsitine waters. The Ason is one of the most important of them and one of the few where salmons still breed. As soon as the Ason river springs to life it drops down a dramatic cliff in one of the most spectacular sites in Cantabria. Later it makes its way among the impressive Alisas Mountains and meets the ocean in the Estuary of Treto, by Colindres, forming the large bay where Laredo and Santoña are located.

Langre

by DanielF

The beaches in the city of Santander can get a bit crowded during the summer, but in the surrounding areas there are a lot of wild beaches that stay almost desert. One of my favourites is the beach of Langre, protected by high cliffs and surrounded by farms and meadows. The fields seem to drop into the sea. This is also a naturist beach.

Very steep roads

by deeper_blue

I was driving from Santander to Madrid, but missed the right turn off and ended up in the middle of the Cantabrians! The roads here can be very steep with sharp corners.
