Somo Local Customs

Being a very small town, everybody knows everybody. The staff at yur hotel are bestfriends with or family of the people that own the bar you go drinking in. EVERYTHING gets around, and it´s not long before all the locals know your name and what you did last night.

There´s no anonmity in Somo. For example i´d only been there a week before everyone knew my name, how long i was here for, where i ate, what i ate, weather or not i went to the beach and the fact i got a throat infection and couldn´t finish my surfing lessons! NO JOKE.

And i kept myself to myself. I went into Santander for a night out and somehow it got back to the BNB owner in Somo that I had one too many, and I hadn´t even stayed in somo that night!

Be careful! The locals are judgemental. If your kids misbehave, or you get sick, or come home late, everyone will know and make a character assesment of you.
