  • Plaza Mayor - Plaza del Arcipreste

    The plaza mayor has the name Plaza del Arcipreste.Juan Ruiz, Arcipreste de Hita, is famous for having written the book "Buen Amor" in the 14th century.This house standing on pillars is situated just in front of the Puerta de Santa Maria.

  • Solar clock

    A solar clock is placed at near the wall at Plaza de Arcipreste. A sign besides explains the important points of the year, "a dialogue with the sun".

  • Visit the caste ruins

    At the top of the Hita mountain there is the ruins of an old castle. On the way up you can get a glimpse of some of the old wine cellars that are excavated in the rock.The castle is just a ruin, but it is a nice view from this spectacular mountain, although a bit windy.

  • Visit the old wine cellars

    In the upper part of the village on the mountain side there are a lot of old wine cellars (bodegas). They are examples of old and very primitive architecture. They were uses as far as in the 20th century.
