The Ruta Isla del Pan (Island of Bread) was the one I chose. It's the most popular since you enter the lagoon "jumping" form island to islnad thanks to some wood bridges.

There are three itineraries:
- Ruta Laguna Permanente: 1.860 metres
- Ruta Isla del Pan: 2.500 metres (I chose this one)
- Ruta Torre de Prado Ancho: 3.000 metres
All three are easy to walk and well indicated.

Before you reach the main Visitors Centre and the beginning of the three itineries, on your left, you'll find the Molino de Molemocho (Windmill of Molemocho).
This building is one of the oldest harineros hydraulic mills of Castille-La Mancha. It's not known the year the mill was built, but it was mentioned in 1.575.
This is anothrr Visitors Centre.

From Madrid, take road A-4 to Manzanares, then take road A-43 on your right to Daimiel. Once there, follow the signs. Maybe there is another route a bit shorter, but this is better (from my point of view).
Or, instead of going to Manzanares, once in Puerto Lápice, take road N-420 on your right.
Some road distances to Daimiel (the closest town) from:
- Madrid (Spain): 171 kms.
- Nantes (France): 1.209 kms.
- Eger (Hungary): 2.721 kms.
- Gdansk (Poland): 3.054 kms.
Checking the website, you’ll find more road distances together with the driving times and the best routes.
