From Granada it is just over 300kms to Toledo. You take the E902 north to Jaen then north east on E-5 through Puerto Lapice (which is worth a stop and maybe lunch) and then on to Toledo.

Almost everything is within a walking distance, just the bus and railway station are a bit far, but there are urban buses that will take you to the centre of the city in less than ten minutes.

One of the quickest way to ascend to the top of the old town is by a series of elevators built into the town walls. These start just beyond the main gate and lead up to the heart of the old town.

If you're travelling to Toledo from Madrid, get a bus. Trains are surprisingly infrequent and more expensive too.
