Christmas 2003 - the storks are in residence again, Castrillo de la Vega

Beach_dog Says:  As last year the storks were back in their nests this Christmas. Perched in a nest which looks too big for the small belltower on the church. One of the kindly posed for me but the other was less responsive. Even whistling would not attract its attention.

Lechazo

Lechazo, Castrillo de la Vega

Beach_dog Says:  The lamb in this area has its own "Denominacion de origen".It has a unique flavour this is due to the vegetation in the area, also because the lamb is younger so it has a milky flavour.

Iglesia parroquial de Santiago el Mayor, Castrillo de la Vega

Beach_dog Says:  I dont know too much about this church, except its dedicated to St Santiago. The local fiesta is held on the 25th July, the saints day. It fits well into the old town center of Castrillo.

Bodegas

Bodegas, Castrillo de la Vega

Beach_dog Says:  Just outside the village center you can see the entrances to the Bodegas. Small subterranean rooms where wine was stored during its maturing process. The wine kept in barrels is held at a constant temperature all year round.
