Due to the Camino de Santiago there are a lot of tourists floating about Leon in the summer months- however it is not Madrid so don't expect anybody to speak English! there are a few restaurants that have english menus but that's about it!
Unique Suggestions: Buy a guide and learn some phrases before hand! You wouldn't be happy if someone came to your country without knowing a word of yor language and expecting you to understand them!

If u plan to stay in Leon a long time and wish to buy a mobile phone there is tax added on to every message you send and to every phone call you make! Watch your balance drop!
Fun Alternatives: Buy a Mami phone card which is 5 euro and gives you lots of minutes to anyawhere in the world especially if you have the opportunity to use it from a landline.

The province of León is crossed by the Santiago road. For this reasons, thousands of pilgrims, and nowadays tourists, have crossed these harsh lands seeking spirituality and forgiveness. Apart from the capital itself, other important stages are: - Astorga (see picture) with its lovely cathedral and the bishop's palace (a unique building designed by Gaudí) - Ponferrada, with an impressive castle, and - Villafranca del Bierzo.

WACH OUT !!! FREE CAMPING IS NOT ALLOWED in some Nature Spaces in Ávila...ooohhh!!! What a pity!!! You could even be penalized !! So if you do it hide yourself good!! Besides, even if it is not O.K. to say this...It worth it! Anyway, there are a lot of Camping Areas really good everywhere and they all are very cheap.
