When you have a drink in one of the bars
or outside on the terraces you will often
    be offered a free tapas.
"tapas' is a little snack and can be
everything. Amixture of ognions and gherkins,
a tomato with and ansjovy , a little toast with
    baked egg... everything is possible.

And the strange thing is , we found all the
prices quit cheap. Is it because this city
    escapes mass tourisme?

The last week of April and until the second of
mai there was this sand sculpture festival
going on. It appears to be a tradition.

Very nice in the evening to see the artists at
    work on the 'Plaza Mayor'.
The sculptures also gets lighted...and a
    whole crowd parades by.

before putting his hand in this thing.

No , it isn't the postman who should think ,
this is the letterbox at the main post office
    to send letters around Spain.
I think it is fantastic to do it this way.
The postoffice can be found on the
    'plaza Rinconada'

If you need stamps keep in mind they
also close in the afternoon and open
    in the evening.

I've seen it before in Spain ,
but it still looks weird. You don't see it
    in the north of Europe.

    An anonymous castellano made this
statue of Jezus with real hair.

It looks really weird to me.
Can be seen in the little but nice
    museum of the cathedral.

I always tought it is such a cliche.
The flamenco dresses , beautifull dark haired
    girls...colorfull , flamboyant....

It is not! Spanish girls have got a lot of flair.
They dare to be colorfull , elegant.
It is quit a feast for the eye to see them
at festive activities. This picture is taken
    after the wedding service.

    I loved to see them.

Saturday seemed to be the day
to get married. In every chuch we walked in
we saw at least one wedding. ;-)

During the afternoon when everybody hides
in twon we were relaxing in the parc
'campo grande'. After the church that is the
next stop. I saw this bossy woman in a
    turkois costume telling the newlyweds
how to pose and a young guy dragging this
    huge middleaged camera with him...
I asumed the lady was the mother in law.
But no , she was the photographer...

It took her ages to get the picture..
A little wind blew some drops on the couple...
That was when I took the picture ,
    with my fast digital camera'

    What do you think?

They are birds that strictly follow their customs... They come back every year around "San Blas" day (3 February).
You can see them in many church towers. This nest is on one of the cathedral's walls.
