You can as well use a boat to go to open sea, and swim a little bit. I don't recomend taking a swim in the river, lol. Not this one at least. But you can go swimming at the beach or, as I said, use a boat to go farther away. Though you might have problems.....Don't tell my aunt you saw this photo, lol.more
You can also take a ride on a boat along the river. You can take it at Deltebre, for example, where it will get you to the same end as someone goes on talking giving you a tourist explantion about the river, and some history related to it. On the other hand, you can take your own boat or rent one. There was a time when my father bought a little...more
In the Natural Park there are many things to do, nevertheless the are some I don't like people doing cause they endanger the environment. So I won't say them. ;-) But I'll do tell what you can do respecting the environment. First of all, and as in any Park, you can sitesee. There are many places to see although transportation is pretty rough in the...more

Good for: Families
The Delta of the river Ebro is the largest wertland of catalonian lands. It is 320 km2 and it constitutes the most important habitat of the occidental Mediterranean, after Le Camargue, and it is the second one of Spain after Doñana.
Its landscape offers the Delta a unique character in all Catalonia. Its land is completely flat, giving a it peculiar aspect. In its interior you can find huge ricefields of changing aspect according to the season (yellowish in autumn, brown in winter, inundated by water in spring and green in summer) of incredible beauty. At the litoral you can find one of the most attractive lacustrine views of the Mediterranean, with big lagoons surrounded by reeds and rushes. At its periphery, great extensions of saline lands with halofilous vegetation and long and deserted sandy beaches, with dunes coronated by psammophilous vegetation, are well adapted to the environment.
Try to wear clothes that won't scare the fowls of the area, you can get to see them. Generally, tray light clothes, especially if you go in summer. The sun can be arduous. There's a lot of sand, so something comfortable as a footwear.
Photo Equipment: The birds aren't usually five feet from you, so if you wanna make good photos you'll need a zoom. in that case try to use a 100 ISO picture if the sun is high and no clouds around. Better color, but you can make good b/w pictures as well.
Some good binoculars would be of good use!!
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Suntan is obviously recommended, and use a high number, don't try to be superman there, it's your health you're dealling with. And don't forget your sunglasses!!!
Natural Park Information Center is located in Deltebre (C. Marti Buera 22 - 977489679). There you can be guided about the most interesting places of the Park according to the season and your available time.Schedule:Monday - Friday: 10 - 14h / 15 - 18hSaturdays: 10 - 13h / 15.30 - 18hSundays and Holidays: 10 - 13hmore

As I was saying you can't go to the Area of Tarragona and not visit the Parc Natural del Delta de l'Ebre. In the Delta i have lots of memories. My life is very attached to that piece of land. There I fished for the first time, learned to go in a bicycle, learned to kayak (and still learning), drived for the first time and eaten the best paella...more
