The modern name of Baetulo, Badalona, means "look at the waves". On the Badalona flag you can see the red bars of the Catalan flag and the blue waves of our sea.
La Rambla is the maritime promenade of Badalona. It's parallel to the beach and the sea so it's nice to have a walk along it. On sunny sundays you'll find it very crowded. It's easy to meet people that you know, the centre of Badalona is like a little town :-)). There are a lot of bar-restaurants with tables outside to eat good tapas too. Some sundays it's possible to see/dance sardanes near the monument of Roca i Pi.
Along La Rambla you will find:
-Roca i Pi monument
This is a little inscription on a bronze table done by the year 90 a.C. It's a declaration of hospitality to Licinios, a very influent person by that time. This piece is important because we can find for the first time the word "Baetulonensis" (people from Baetulo).

Here you can find the bests frankfurts (wurstel sandwitches) of all Badalona. I think that the trick is on its tomato sauce (not ketchup) which is a little spicy and delicious!!. Of course there are other kinds of sandwitches like lomo sandwich but trust me and take a frankfurt. The "frankfurt" costs 1,90 euros. There are no tables, only the bar.
Favorite Dish: Frankfurt!!

It is the main act of the May Festivities in Badalona. Sant Anastasi (11th may) is the saint patron of Badalona. The legend says that S. Anastasi, a roman soldier, was tempted by the devil who wanted to test his new faith. That's why people from Badalona the night of the 10th may burn a "little" devil of 9metres built on the beach. I don't know why but usually it rains during all day (i mean 10th may) and people are always a little worried, but at the end it stops in the afternoon and the devil is ok to be burned at night :-))
