Getting to Barcelona by plane

In BNC's airport

Barcelona airport is situated 12 km (7 miles) south of the city at El Prat. Iberia is the national carrier and there is a shuttle service operating from here to the capital, Madrid. The airport houses a tourist office, bank, car-hire facilities and a hoel reservation service.
A smooth, efficient bus service, the Aueobus, runs every 15 minutes between the airport and Placa de Catalunya, and vice versa, stopping at Sants and other strategic places en route. It takes 30 minutes. There are also trains to Sants and Placa de Catalunys every 30 minutes, and journey takes about 20 minutes.

You can fly each day to different prices.
To Reus the flight starts at 10:00 am. You arrive Reus Salou at 12:10 pm
On Wednesday you have to pay 49.99 € plus 2.50€ Credit card fee plus 13.19 € taxes.
You can take an insurance 14.00 €.
You can although take a flight to Girona twice a day. In the morning and in the evening.
Both regions are good to reach Barcelona.

Barcelona's Airport- Terminal C

This is the waiting room of the C terminal of Barcelona. The C terminal is the smaller one (after the A and B terminal), where you can take your flight for internal destinations in Spain like Sevilla, Madrid or Valencia, or closer Europe destinations like Pisa or Paris. Inside the C terminal you can find a duty free shop, two cafeterias, and big and cleaned toilettes, very usefull while you are travelling, isn' t it?

Great lunch

Well in my opinion the best part of a flight is the lunch or dinner time!!! We had them both and I can say that the quality of food and service was very good. We ate tortillas de patatas, mixed salad with thun fish, bread, salami, cheese and finally a chocolate cake (very "yummy"!!!). To drink you can choose between water, orange juice and bier. After dinner or lunch coffee of course;-))

Inside the airplane before the flight

In this picture you can see the interior of the airplane I took from Pisa to Barcelona and return. This plane is not that big, it has about 70 seats for passengers, but you don't have to be scared about turbolences...you won't feel them despite of you are flying in a "little" plane!

IBERIA

Iberia's planes waiting ....

Iberia airlines is the flying national company in Spain. I flew to Barcelona with "air nostrum" a company that is in association with Iberia and that make use of charters flights (but businness class) to go up and down from Pisa (my start airport) to Barcelona, and up and down in Spain.
We spent about 180 euros for a round trip and we had a great time and perfect service inside the airplane and with Iberia's office in Barcelona. Because of this I recommend you to choose Iberia for your trips to Spain, you can be sure to have a nice flight :-)

Ryan Air is NOT out of Barcelona

When looking online Ryan Air will say that it flys to and from Barcelona. This is not true. It flys to an airport about 2 hrs from Barcelona. I made this mistake and I ended up having to buy a last minute ticket. Can we say $$$$. I also have this under tourist traps. It's a tip that is close to my heart. Flying out of Barcelona isn't the easiest place to get a cheap ticket. If you need to you can easily hop on a train to Madrid and get on one of the millions of flights that go in and out of there

There are cheap flights!

We thought, after prowling the internet, we would never find cheap flights. However, we decided to look on easyjet and were nicely surprised. We got both our tickets, return, for only £140, which is really good going compared to the other prices we had seen which were dreadfully expensive!!

How to get the city

Barcelona Airport is located in the township of El Prat de Llobregat, 12 kilometres southwest of the city. There is a connection between the airport and the railway station Estacio de Sants, every 30 minutes from 5:43 a.m. to 10:13 p.m. The ride takes approximately 30 minutes. A bus service is also available from the Placa Catalunya, departing every 15 minutes all year round.

arrival in Girona

Ryan Air offers very reasonable flights to/from Barcelona. But watch out: the socalled "Barcelona" airport is actually the one in Girona, about 70 km away from BCN.

Barcelona itself has an airport, too - much more convenient, but not always the cheaper alternative.
