    Barcelona CArd is Expensive

by BruceDunning Written Dec 5, 2011

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: WE evaluated the value of the Barcelona card, and it turned out not to be worth the purchase price. A card for 3 days costs 34 Euro and 4 days 38 Euro. It would be beneficial if you got into Gaudi sites for free or substantial reduced price, but that is not the case. Sagrada for example is only 2 Euro off the 12 Euro price, and BAtllo only 3 Euro off 17 Euro price, and Pedrar not much better at 1,50 Euro off at 12 Euro entry. The only real value may be in going to the MNAC, of CAtalan Artr Museum in Montjuic because it is free and saves 8 Euro, and Museo D'Historia for 6 Euro. Overall if you saw all the sites you could over 4 days, you still end up paying about 4-5 Euro more than normal entry fees to sites.

    Barcelona city break

    by Gili_S Updated Jan 30, 2011

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Favorite thing: The visit to Barcelona came in short notice without much of planning. Also knowing that it is just a trip inside Europe it does not need from my side much of planning and I only wanted to come and see this beautiful city with what's it offering. I was just going with the flow without too much planning and no sightseeing ticking. It was excellent city break.

Favorite thing: Sights and museums in Barcelona are spread out across the city, so you do need to use public transport. A T-10 ticket entitles you to 10 rides on the bus or metro, and costs €6.90 (£4.60). A single ticket costs €1.25 (83p) and a day ticket costs €5.25 (£3.50). Tourist tickets are available for periods from two to five days, from €9.60 (£6.40). The Barcelona Tourist Bus has two routes stopping off at major points of interest and costs €19 (£12.75) for one day or €23 (£15.40) for two days, with discounts at museums, attractions and restaurants. The Barcelona Card includes public transport, and discounts at museums, attractions and shops. From €24 (£16) for two days.
