Favorite thing: Hit the beaches! There was a huge clean-up before the 1992 Olympics, so the water quality is said to be quite good. I never actually sat my feet on any of these beaches, there wasn't enough time and the weather wasn't that good. The picture was taken when I was the other me, SuperJimmy...

Barcelona Beaches
these beaches are not the most fantastic you have luck to see in your life, but in these last years their quality (sand and water) has grown so much!!
Thanks to 1992 Olympic Games Barcelona has changed his face and recover the beaches where for a long time only passes the train and that area was ful of industries.
Now we can enjoy with 5 beaches, each one with their feature that i want to explain here
the best way to arrive is taking the subway and go down in Ciutadella Vila Olimpica yellow line, and follow the street to right hand once in the ground
The first beach you can find is Nova Icaria the fullest and easy recognized beach in summer due to Pizza hut restaurant, that i only visit some afternoon to see how people playing Beach volley
The next and the most interesting for me is Bogatell (also subway Bogatell station)it always is emptier than Nova Icaria and water is cleaner too
Third Mar Bella Also quiet and calm beach cause its further away of touristic guides!!, Above all you could see spanish or catalonian people there
The last is Nova Mar Bella that i dont suggest cause there are 'next' to it the Besos river outlet, and Besos isnt a clean and gorgeous river of course
In that list i forgot the most typical beach in Barcelona, La Barceloneta placed to left hand seeing to sea of Nova Icaria beach and far away from Vila Olimpica freetime zone and Mafre and Arts Hotel Towers. Its in front of Barcelona Sea Hospital (look at your guide map). To arrive there twopotions Barcelona subway station or Ciutadella
Favorite thing:
You haven't lived until you walk along the coastline of the Mediteranian as the rainbow of colors touch down on the beautiful blue water. The weather was outstanding. The people were wonderful. The atmosphere was relaxing and soothing. Of all of the places I have been, Barcelona is my personal favorite. For 4 days all we did was tour this outstanding city by foot. Every inch was as gorgeous as the inch before. If you are borderline about whether to go to Barcelona or somewhere else.....pick Barcelona, it's a lock!
Fondest memory:
What I miss the most is there lifestyle. It is not out of the ordinary to find downtown closed for a few hours in the middle of the day...everyone takes a few hours to either siesta or have a fiesta. Nothing is rushed, these people value their time...which is exactly why they enjoy it. Ohhh, and the food, the food was as flavored as any I have tasted before. I went to a number of countries in Europe and Barcelona provided me with the best cuisine.
Favorite thing: Dont Miss the Beaches!! Olympic Beach was my favorite. Lots of beachside cafes and bars with oh sooo much to look at!!!! Us Americans are missing out. I have started the bathing suit optional routine at my local beach (on a Lake) and for some reason everyone has left?? Its OK though cuz now I have the beach all to myself!!!
Favorite thing:
Driving an hour by car(or train) from Barcelona you can get to Sitges beaches.
Sitges is a small old city, if I can call it in this way full of charm, nice restaurants and clear sea.
Favorite thing: One of the best and relaxing ways to see the port and the harbour is taking a "Golondrina", a kind of cruise.
