Think twice about taking kids with you.
The thing about Barcelona is that the nightlife starts just about the time I am going to bed back in England. People don't even start to eat until late evening.
I took my youngest son (then 14 years old) to Barcelona, just so he could get some travel experience. It wasn't long before I realised that I chose the wrong city. Just as we went back to the hotel, things were hotting up, people were beginning to go out in the evening, bars were turning on their music, pretty sensuous girls were brushing passed.....and I had to go back to the hotel !!! Of course I could not leave my son on his own in the hotel......but the thought crossed my mind at times !
So, I am convinced...choose another city to take children !!!! And enjoy the nightlife......
These pictures, show Gary......my youngest.....(I am showing my age now !).
Favorite thing: See Flamenco dancing. To be honest, it is not my most favourite dancing as I prefer to watch Middle Eastern, South Atlantic or even Irish dancing rather than Flamenco, but that is just my personal taste. Irrespective of this, it is facinating and makes a great night out...along with a jar of Sangria. A good setting for more serious nightlife later on.
Favorite thing: Ok, parden me for gushing, but here it comes...how wonderful is flamenco dancing?!!?!! It was amazing. It is such a sexy and passionate dance, and these performers were total professionals. You could just see from their facial expressions, that they were into this dance more that just physically. Could be that I had sampled too much sangria, but I was almost brought to tears by the beauty. Now I want to be a flamenco dancer when I grow up!!
Favorite thing:
It's important to sleep so much as as you can, before you depart to barcelona the nights are incredible long...
Fondest memory:
The place where i find me better was in LILLA, it was not a touristic place and you have the possibility to speak with real barcelona's people....
