Favorite thing: I definitely recommend getting a one or two day pass on a tourist bus. You are able to travel to ALL parts of city throughout the day and never have to deal with the metro or taxis...it will definitely save you money and time in the end. Not to mention you'll get the highlights of the city described to you in one of five languages. =) Here's a picture of Casa Mila...the tourist bus will let you off right in front!
Fondest memory: If you ever come to Barcelona, I recommend you to buy a 'Bus Turistic' ticket. It is one of the best ways to visit Barcelona. This is an official tourist service of the Barcelona City Hall. The Bus visits Barcelona's main attractions. On the Bus official guides explain visitors what to visit in several languages. Tickets are valid for one day, during which you can hop on and off as many times as you want. It's a great way to discover what Barcelona has to offer.
Barcelona has a mild weather. The hottest month is July, (27-30 C Degrees). The coldest month is February (7-9 C Degrees). To visit Barcelona I'd recommend from April to June, and from September to December. The coolest day of the year is Sant Jordi's Day (April 23rd), when everybody is in the streets to celebrate the Catalan lovers day.
Barcelona is a northern capital placed in the South. Two Catalan words describe our Character: 'Seny' = Common Sense (The North) and 'Rauxa' = Frenzy (The South).
Favorite thing: Starting my traveling in Europe I was exactly sure, that if ‘ll have chance to visit Barcelona, obviously I’ll go to see famous Gaudi’s creation - Sagrada Familia . Barcelona appeared to be more big then I was thinking of it. After an hour walk under strong sunlight towards the cathedral from Catalonia square , I understand it was a mistake not to use metro. Metro net is not so developed as in Paris, but near the places of interest you can find nearest one.
Favorite thing: April 23rd is the only day of the year that the Palau de la Generalitat is open to the public. It is a magnificent building so it is a highly recommended visit
On this web-site you can find a lot of information on Gaudi; about his works and other things.
