Favorite thing: .

the capital of catalunya and a proudest region to it's inhabitants. along the path yu only ear them, speaking catalan, their oficcial language instead of spanish wich is spoken throu' out spain.
but very kind people and all the way, they talk back in any language yu're fancy with.
portuguese, english mostly.

Favorite thing: This tip is really more about communicating in Barcelona. It has two main languages: Catalan & Castillian. There were a couple of restaruants by the beach though, where after communicating with me in the native languages, the waiter broke into English-at just the right time!

Another reason to love Barcelona.

Fondest memory: Based on this tip, it's gotta be the people-including the most beautiful cabdriver I ever met. I forget her name, as I'm sure she's forgotten all about me, but if you ever get a friendly blonde lady with a dazzling smile while in Barcelona, tell her Steve says hi!

Favorite thing: And yet another demonstration...

I'm not quite sure what this one was about though. We saw lots of other demonstrations too, but I think it's enough with three on these pages... ;)

(Can anyone tell me if it is normal with so many demonstrations, or if it was just something special while I was there?)

Favorite thing: Barcelona touristy districts as La Rambla street or seaside (Port Vell) is full of street mummers and musicians. Actually mummers pay their attention on dressing unusually, copying worldwide famous people. Such shows gather lot of tourists around them, but more watchers than money-givers :)

The most I liked street musicians, who are usually people from African land. First evening in Barcelona was so nice one, as there was solo show in Cathedral square, mostly lyric ballads.

Favorite thing: I don't know if it is very special for Barcelona, or if it was just something that happened while I was there. But there were plenty of demonstrations going on.

Favorite thing: Glad you asked, it is always disappointing to find out after the fact of the places you should have visited. Are you familiar with the term "Gaudi", as in too ornate or too busy? Gaudi was an architect and designed many buildings in Barcelona, a MUST see, you will be ver impressed by the unusual designs, I mean unusual. Because I was there in a campervan it is hard for me to say what goes on with the public transportation, but I would look into caves and caverns, that area has a few amazing places. I would go to something like caves and caverns of spain on the address bar, you might even try hiking near Barcelona on the address bar. Have fun!

P. S. Don't forget to visit the 'Old Barcelona and the museums. I think there are 20 museums, tho I didn't get to all of them

Fondest memory: The city is very diverse, from the old city to the cosmopoitan, I loved the culture the people and the MUSEUMS! The attitude of the people, especially in traffic circles. If there is a snarl in traffic, people get out of their cars and stretch, or converse, or depending on the delay, go for lunch. There is no road rage or ulcers, more things are taken in stride and no useless energy is spent. MY TIP:

ASK ASK ASK the Locals! People like to be helpful, and eye contact and a smile go a long way when you ask the natives what to see. It is the best way to get off the beaten trail and see the sites not found in travel brochures. ASK ASK ASK the Locals!

Favorite thing: Here's the game - drink a load of beer then run down the street taking pictures of people at random. Yes, I know it only promotes the idea that the English are a bunch or rowdy idiots, but it's still a lot of fun and the pictures you can get are fantastic!
