Another trendy place I USED (please note the past tense!!) to like: CDLC (Carpe Diem Lounge Club), in the seafront, close to the Arts hotel. But it has became way too "void fashion" to my taste on their best nights.... and just a cheesy place full of tourists (and not the most elegant ones) on their worse nights. However, it could still be an option if you are staying nearby. I do recommend to eat there ONLY in case you reserve a "bed" to experience a different way to have dinner. The food is so-so (given it's price it could be better), Mediterranean-style with lots of oriental influence.
There used to have the possibly of a relaxing massage with aromatherapy after dinner... a good way to impress your partner!! (but not sure if it's still possible)
During the day it may be a good place for have a drink and relax.
You may go there just for clubbing after having dinner in other better restaurants nearby: Agua, Bestial, etc
I'm sorry to say... but as many other "locals", I'm not going to the Port Olimpic area clubs anymore.
First of all don't tell the taxi driver Carpe Diem, tell him CDLC. We had to take two cabbies there since the first one didn't recognize the name. It was gnarly since we waited nearly an hour to hail an empty cab on a Thursday summer night in Barcelona!
The locaton is superb, by the main beach but the VIP area where we were didn't look plush altough they were separated and are actually cushioned beds, pillows galore. But the ventilation was terrible and it was steamy hot there since the windows were kept shut due to the noise restrictions. Service was good and attentive at first but then after we ordered the second round, we waited a very long time...the lights were turned on full blare and it looked like the night was done. It was only 2 am! So we canceled our drinks and got out of there.
I thought the music was terrible. It had no flow to it, no cohesive format and it was just bad overall. The crowd is mixed, young Euro and gay partying on a Thursday night. For our group who know what a good party is, it was a major let down, a low point in our last night in Barcelona. I'm so glad we didn't have dinner there. It also seemed overhyped.
Dress Code: There didn't seem to be any dress code enforced.
Carpe Diem is a fun and classy bar and club. People generally go here to check out other people, sort of to see and be seen. The decoration is beautiful down to the Buddha inspired rock sinks in the bathrooms. The downside to this club is there is not much dancing going on, they're too busy checking each other out!
Dress Code: dress to impress
This is the restaurant than later is a night club, lounge club.
The ambience in general is very good, the decoration adn of course the lounges sides are cool.
It's not the typical place i go, i don't usually go to clubs, but this is special.
In summer must be amazing because is in front of the sea, on the beach.
This is such a wicked place to stay by the beach having a cocktail & enjoying chill out music & the amaizing red beds..
This place is one of the best that Ive seen - white leather beds, low tables & chairs, cool music & trendy laid back people..
