JAMBOREE: jazz nights
I remember this jazz spot from my previous visit so I returned back this year. Jamboree Jazz club is popular because of its good location (so close to Ramblas)
The entrance cover is usually about 10euros but depending on the artist can go up to 20 euros. There are 2 different sets each night, one at 21.00 and one at 23.00. We saw Clara Luna (vocals) and Albert Vila (guitar) a nice jazz duo (short video here). From what I’ve heard later in the night it turns into a dance club with top live DJ’s. I payed 4 euros for each beer.
Next to Jamboree is the Tarantos a club for flamenco that share the same ticket office but I never visited (I prefer southern cities for Flamengo nights)
Live Music: Primavera Sound 08
Next May 29th-31st this live music festival will show us lots of bands with lots of chances to enjoy with live music in the forum complex in BCN. 116 bands are confirmed at this time !! such a show!!

Tinta Roja: Tango, theater, paintings, beer and more
Tinta Roja is this kind of place I would probably never found if I did not have a couple of friends living nearby. The place, with it's odd decoration, looks like a mixture of cafe-theater, circus, funfair and contemporary art exhibition... The owners are from Argentina, so tango has a special presence, as well as Argentina – related events (as well as Argentinean beers and other drinks)
They have live music nights, theater performances and painting/photography exhibits on its walls. So, please look at the link below to see what’s going on. If anything is programmed this particular night, is still a good place to have a few drinks in an unusual place.
Dress Code: As most places in Barcelona, no special code is required. Mainly bohemian - artsy clientele.

Live Music: a touch of paris
i had been in barcelona for several days and was entirely fed up with the monopoly that techno music was holding on the music scene. all that i wanted was a nice little dusty place to listen to pleasant jazz or something a little more engaging than techno music. and then i found IT! the most beautiful spot in barcelona... BAR PASTIS. the bar was very dark and could only fit about 15 people, and even then it was a little crowded. all of the wall adornments were brown with aged smoke stains. everyone was quietly listening to an older man sing portugese songs while playing the guitar on the tiny stage. we snuck it and the bar tender came over and quietly asked us what we wanted to drink... it was very lovely. the bar was opened after WWII by a catalan couple infatuated with Marseilles. They dedicated it to French cabaret, and had only Edith Piaf on the stereo. Now they play a wider aray of music, but the air of French cabaret still lingers on.
I highly recommend this place for those of you looking for something a little more romantic and bohemian.
bar pastis is open from 7:30 pm- 3 am tues - sun.
after the bar closed we made our way around the corner to the london bar which offered a very nice continuation of the evening. a nice place if you are looking for a laid back bar where you can dance and kick back until the wee hours of the morning.

Live Music: Tengo in the Back of a bar
You can, buy in any paper stand, a guide for what to do in Barcelona during the week for one euro. From that guide we went to a very small creapy bar and ask the barman for the concert (their was no sign of concert anywhere when we got in). From there, he made us pass behind the bar and passing a low door we arrived in a very small room, full of people sitting around small table in front of a low scene. I heard the best and more casual tengo songs i ever heard!! Memorable night!!
Pastis: Like being in Paris
A tiny place, just a few tables on 25 m2, that holds live performances??? Believe or not, this hole-in-the-wall has live performances each Sunday (French singers), Tuesday (tango), and Wednesday (singer-songwriters). There is no cover charge. At any other time, you'll be treated by recorded Edith Piaf songs while you enjoy a Pastis to round the Paris-like experience. If you don't like Pastis (as me), don't worry, the place is nice anyway :-)
Live Music: Great Venue!
One of Barcelonas most famous venues for rock and indie music. The sound is great, nothing compares to this in Madrid. Capacity is about 700 people but if its packed some people have to watch the band on a screen since not everyone fits right in front. Its a great place to see a concert though. (And if you are the band its a great place to play) The only drawback is that as soon as the band is done playing they will kick you out so they can get everything set up for the late night DJ session can begin.

London Bar: Live music every night
This basr in the centre of the city has live music every night. Several acts perform each night so there is always something you'll like. The atmosphere is really British. I don't think that the air refreshing system is working very good, because there is a lot of smoke hanging in this pub. Nevertheless a great place to go for a drink!
Dress Code: Whatever you feel comfortable in.
La Masia , Torrena: La Masia , Torrena
The ultimate Spanish night! Great if you love culture and a good time and a good night out!
First you are outside in the grounds where there is wine on tap and lots of nibbles. Then you go in to tables that seat upto forty people each. Food comes round and you can have as much as you like.
