Located in the heart of El Born area, a stone throw away from Santa Maria del Mar, Taller de Tapas is an excellent choice for lunch or dinner. The dining room is set in an old building with exposed brick walls and ancient arches. One could eat at the bar or take a table, and when the weather is clement, outdoor seating is also an option. I ate here twice in Feb 2005 and once in June 2008 and was not disappointed. The tapas dishes are also reasonably priced.
According to the website, Taller de Tapas has multiple locations. I've only eaten at the one located at Caller l'Argenteria, 51.
Very Friendly staff (especially if you try to speak spanish). One of the best Tapa-restaurants I visited this year.
Favorite Dish:
Russian Roulette. It's not called that way, it's the name we gave the dish: the little green peppers are completely unpredictable: usually one of the lot is extremely hot. The rest isn't.
One of the nicest settings around the Santa Maria del Pi and the Call area of the Barri Gotic. There is seating available inside or out right next to the the church. The fresh vegetables and the amazing local specialties are good any time of day. You may even get serenaded by local musicians.
Favorite Dish:
The best stuff is what is in season.
