This great new mall that opened in October of 2002 has all the clothing shops that are on the Ramblas and many, many more. They are brand new stores (much cleaner and more organized), are much less crowed, have tons more merchandise and sales. It is practically empty on a workday between 10 and 5 or so, shopping then is a great pleasure without having to wait in lines for fitting rooms and wade through hundreds of disseveled clothes on display. It is easy to get to on the subway (take the FGC at Palcea Espana to Ildefons Cerda, two stops and you are there!) or there are many buses that take you right to the front door practically! They also have many great resturants and cafes for outside eating. There is also a huge Carreforre, that is kind of like a super Wal-Mart, that has everything from fruits and veggies and other food to televisions and electronics. A great place for serious shoppers!

What to buy: Just about anything is available at this shopping center!

What to pay: Pay regular prices expected in Barcelona, however, there are more sales and special offers here at times

rambla de Sant Josep: heaps of flowers and plants

    rambla de las flores

it's not a shop, it's a portion of the Rambla, one of the pedestrian streets of Barcelona. In this part flower dot the pavement - in fact it's locally known as the "rambla de las flores". In the past this was the place where there was a huge flower market - a tradition that, in smaller scale, has been preserved until today

What to buy: flowers, all sorts of flowers

What to pay: the usual average price for flowers

    Where To Go Shopping

What place you want to go depends on what you want to buy. If you want to buy some presents for your family or some other general goods, you can walk down Puerta del Angel and Puertaferrisa. These streets are full of little shops, you won't find big supermarkets or shopping malls, but they are more charming.

What to buy: If you want to buy big quantities of food or any other thing without having to walk too much, you may go to one of the fashion big shopping malls. There are about 7 or 8 (Heron City, Icaria, Glories...) and they include cinemas, supermarkets, record shops, everything.
