    Barcelona, Ramblas

    Barcelona, Ramblas

On the lively Ramblas, you can always see mime artists who want to pick a piece of the tourist grain. It must be fun for children and it's worth looking at a few seconds, but that's all for us.

    Barcelona at Night

It's a great place to stroll around at night, especially down Las Ramblas and along the harbour front. As with any major city it is advisable to stay away from the darker areas, just in case.

This was the view from our pension. There was always a lot happening on Las Ramblas. This day in particular was very noisy because there was a football/soccer game going on.

This is the place where everybody likes to go for a walk to see people or to be seen, to seat at a terrace, or just because it is the nicest way to go from the plaza de Catalunya to the see!

The ideal place to relax and connect with Barcelona's atmosphere. Going for a walk and seeing all kinds of people especially men or women dressed like they were statues and tourists, many tourists!

This pedestrian street is filled with bars, human statues and pet salespeople.. don't hurry too much (like my uncle who lives there said: let the street come to you)

You will see dozens of such 'monuments' here.
Don't forget to drop a coin or two for their 'restoration' ;-)

Las RAMBLAS - a boulevard of a length of about 2 kilometers, between Plaza de Catalunya and the port, shows what is perhaps the quintessence of Barcelona.

The Palau de la Virreina, built in 1772 in La Rambla too, is nowadays site of interesting exhibitions. There is also a culture information centre as well as an Art & Books shop.
