    The airport bus stops at all of Barcelona airports terminals and costs less then 4 Euros for a single journey or 6.45 for a return trip. Tickets can be bought on the bus.
    The journey should take less than 40 minutes but allow for at least an hour in case you have to queue to get on the bus and journeys can take longer in rush hour.

    The bus leaves every 6 minutes or so, however, there was a large queue at the stop when we were returning to the airport and a couple of buses left before we could get on.
    The bus departs from in front of El Corte Ingles on Placa Catalunya. It stops at a few other stops along the way including Palca Espana . The bus does get very full by the time it reaches this stop, however, it appeared that some buses leave Place Catalunya with only a few passengers onboard, I assume this is to allow more passengers on at later stops.

    To view a timetable click on the web link below and choose Aerobus from the menu (its near the bottom of the list) and click Ver.
    The timetable itself is displayed in English and Spanish.

  • We flew from Glasgow Prestwick to Girona/Barcelona and got the Barcelona Bus from the airport. It's 19 Euros return (11 Euros single) per person and takes 1 hour 10 mins to get to/from Barcelona.

    I think you can get tickets in advance but it's just as easy to get them at the airport, you can't miss it (the airport is tiny) - it's a small desk at arrivals - one point to note is that they don't take credit cards, so you'll need to get some cash out before hand.

    The bus leaves just as soon as it's full (there were three of them sitting there when we got in) and was pretty comfy (no tv/toilet or anything though). It takes you into the bus station at the Arc de Triomphe Metro station. You can't ask better than that!

    When I landed at Girona airport at midnight I was a little bit nervous that the buscompany, Barcelona Bus, would already have benn gone. It wasn't a problem. Smooth, efficient and nice buses took us back and forth from Girona airport. You just buy your ticket in the ticket stand and then jump on the bus.

    You can pay anything from£13 to £20 for a taxi from Barcelona Airport to the city centre. But the A1 bus at the stop right next to the cab rank will ferry you to the main Placa Catalunya for just £2.60.

    The C-31 motorway between Barcelona and Castelldefels connects the airport with the C-32 motorway Barcelona-Sitges from where you can access anyone of the ring roads of Barcelona.

    By taxi
    As everywhere is the expensive way to leave any aiport, but always a little bit more comfortable and fast. There are taxi stops in front of each one of the terminals.

    By bus
    >>>Aerobus
    Is fast, frequent and not really expensive: "only" 3'75 € (2006). The blue aerobus has stops in the three terminals (A, B and C) and runs from 06.00 until 24.00 with around 4 or 5 services during the rush hours. Main stops at Plaça Espanya and Plaça Catalunya.
    >>>Bus 105
    This bus only cost 1'15 (2005) but beware! only arrives at El Prat de Llobregat (from 04.40 until 21.45), a town of the Barcelona agglomeration from where you should take another bus or train to Barcelona.
    >>>Bus 106
    02.00 am and are you at the airport? Don't wait until 06.00 for the aerobus. Take this bus, with stops in terminals B and C, and for 1'15 you will be driven to Plaça Espanya (Spain square) in Barcelona. Services are at 22.15, 23.35, 00.50, 2.05 and 3.20 from the airport to Plaça Espanya and at 22.55, 00.10, 1.25, 2.40 and 3.50 from Plaça Espanya to the airport.

    By train
    This is my favourite system of transport to go or to leave the aiport. It takes a similar time than the aerobus and is a little bit more cheap. For 2'30 € (2005) in around 20 minutes you will be at Plaça Catalunya, more centrally located than not Plaça Espanya, with the main Tourist Office of Barcelona, close to the Ramblas and to a great part of the hotels and hostels of the city. The main stops of the train at are Sants-Estació, Plaça Catalunya, Arc de Triomf and El Clot before leave Barcelona. Train runs from 06.13 until 23.40 from the aiport direction Barcelona. The only inconvenient is that only there are two services per hour and only one at late hours.

  • We flew with www.mytravellite.com from Birmingham for £62 including tax. The further you can book in advance the cheaper the tickets will be.

    When we got the Barcelona airport, we were told by the information deak that the best way to get into the city centre was by train (taxi's are expensive and the bus takes ages), so we caught the train for about €5 for 9 of us - you couldn't get into Birmingham for that much!!!!

    We had to change at Place de Catalunya and take one stop to Universitat (although we could have walked but we weren't sure where to go at first).

    If we got stuck we asked the locals or the information desk and although the language barrier was a problem we got there in the end!!

  • I found that the best way to get to the lower end of Las Ramblas was to take the Renfe train from the Airport to Paseig de Gracia Station, proceed to Metro line 3 and after two stops you reach Lyceu station, in the middle of las ramblas. Paseig de Gracia Station is much less busy than Sants.

  • Flew in to the airport and the got the train into the city centre at Barcelona Sants station. It took around 20 minutes at a cst of around 2 Euros

    Train services to/from the airport are available every 30 minutes from Clot-Arago, Arc de Triomf, Placa Catalunya and Barcelona Sants stations.

    Services operate 05:30 - 22:11

  • On leaving the airport, follow the signs to the railway station.
    Trains leave fairly regularly (about every 30 minutes) to the city centre.
    Most go to Barcelona Sans from there, change trains to go to Line 2 which head towards Placa Catalunya, more useful for those staying on and around the Las Ramblas/university/old town areas.
    It is best to check where trains are heading with the staff on the station, there are plenty of them around.

    Tickets can be purchased from either a machine (instructions in various languages) or from the ticket booth.
    Journey takes around 25 minutes and costs less than 3 Euros.
