Every Thursday Figueres squares turn into one large market where food, local crafts and numerous more or less useful items are sold.
What to buy: I'm semivegetarian so I got myself some goat cheese produced in a peasants' cooperative near Figueres. I also saw a wide variety of spices, vegetables and fruit.
For non-vegetarian readers: great selection of dry sausage, as well as dried ham can be bought in this market.

There are a ton of little souvenier shops around the museum. Most of them carry the same items, t-shirts, mugs, ties , postcards and other various knick knacks and bric a brac. The only store that anything that was a little different was the official museum store. The items were a little pricey though. I wanted a placemat for Norman and it cost 14 euro! I ended up with only a postcard.

a strange town... salvador dali's birthplace - and final resting place. Figueres is a sleepy town with a buzzing museum, which is a peculiar combination. Definitely worth a visit or day-trip.
