Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: You will encounter many many steps and stairs, not to mention cobbled streets, which can become slippy if it rains. Wear sensible shoes like comfy trainers or good walking shoes. I usually wear walking trousers which can be zipped off to form shorts if it gets hot, also my trousers have plenty of secure pockets which saves always opening a bag when you need something.
Photo Equipment: No real need to say anything about bringing a camera - who would forget this? Do make sure you have a good zoom lense though to capture some shots

Luggage and bags: We were only going for a short trip and spending most of our time in Barcelona. If you want to store your luggage, size will be an issue. The lockers are quite convenient in the train station and cost only about 4Euro to use.
Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: We were both glad to have scarves and warm coats with us in Girona. It is much more breezy there and higher in the mountains. It can get quite warm in the summer months though. I always try to dress in layers and that usually helps.
Photo Equipment: Girona is very very picturesque. I am very much into photography and I am glad that now a days I am using a digital camera. If you like taking pictures and think there will be lots to shoot, I would highly recommend bringing a few rolls of film. If you don't or you run out, there are plenty of stores where you can purchase more.
Miscellaneous: With all the varients of street angles and walking surfaces, you want to be sure you have good shoes on.

Miscellaneous: Take a free map of Girona at the Tourist Information. It is good for orientation purposes and includes some general descriptions about the main sights. Moreover the main bus routes are listed in the map.
The Tourist Information is located near the River Onyar at Rambla de la Llibertat 1, 17004 Girona.
