Lloret de Mar on the Spanish Costa Brava is an excellent spot for cliff walking - wonderful landscapes overlooking the sea! The scent of pine trees and salt sea is unforgettable.....really a nice place to unwind......the only noise you'll hear comes from the sea birds.
Travel to by bus.
Barcelona 1hour direct
Blanes - 15 mins
Tossa - didn't time it but not too long!
You could even get a flight from Girona to Madrid if you're there for a long trip.
The English Basilica's 1 of few things that you must see when in Lloret. To tell you the truth, I came upon it quite by chance while I was walking the side streets the 1st time I was in Lloret. And I have to say that I was surprised to find such a building in this tourist favourite spot. I liked the cupolas and paintings on the walls outside.
Rare picture of the three of us, my brothers and me, in Spain, taken in Blanes or Lloret, as we are getting on a bus back to our hotel. Actually a film still, the film was originally an 8 mm small film that was later converted to video, and still later to dvd (that would explain the bad quality, plus we're looking at the early 1980s here ...)
This little Parish Church has such a long name of Capella Del Santissimi 'l Esglesia Parroquail Sant Roma but its name pales into insignificance when you witness first hand her beauty. The Church was first constructed in 1509 - 1522 but its real beauty came about much later when it was restored in 1914 in the design of the architect Bonaventura Conilli Montobbino when it was transformed into a modern design style incorporating Byzantine, Muslim and Renaissance traces. I could hardly believe I was the only tourist uttering oohs and aahs around this busy part of Lloret but I could not resist the compelling and unusual beauty of such a Church. My camera and I were back in an element of simply stunning things to see. Lloret you have a great little gem here advertise it please!! It deserves some recognition. The Church is open weekdays at 19.00 hours- Saturday 18.00 - 20.00 Sunday 10.30-12.00 then 18.00-20.00.
There are numerous beaches and small coves dotted along the coast of the Costa Brava - Fenals is just one of them it is the nearest to Lloret and a much prettier alternative. After a short time reading a book on the beach we got a little bored here and set out on the coastal path. I'm not sure if the tunnel we went through was new or old but it did look old to me. I liked the use of greenery here too such a contrast with the golden sand and turquoise sea. The replica fishing boat planted out beautifully just added to the charm of Fenals.
If you are interested in art be sure to visit Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres which is about an hour away from LLoret. Dali used to live there and the museum has a lot of famous installations by the artist.
Going to Lloret from Barcelona is really easy if you have a car. The journey is not too long and going to Lloret is nice if you like sunbathing, joing watersports (such as banana boats etc..) and meeting young people. The beach is really crowded at summer, and the setting is really nice. Recommended.
The first thing you mention when look down from the Fort’s wall in Tossa are bluffs. The Fort built in strategic place and enemies cannot get the fort easy. Now the excellent view is from the Fort highest place.
The first thing I mentioned when I arrived in Lloret was narrow streets and houses that built very close to each other. This is specific building style and it is very interesting. I liked to walk down these narrow streets during my visiting.
Just three (or 5) kilometres far from Lloret is the wine tasting place – old farm of winery. Taste “Malaga” or “Crème Catalana” before buying it.
If we started to speak about wines in Catalonia I reminding that Catalonia is the motherland of Spanish bubbly – cava. Most popular of winery’s regions is Penedes. Probably the bet wineries of Penedes are Codornu, Conde de Caralt, Juve y Camps, Mont Marcal, Miguel Torres etc.
It is very stylish villa, but it is not the historical monument. Just one man built his house on the beginning of XX century. This beautiful villa became very popular and the view with it is in many postcards and booklets.
It's a fantastic aquatic park plenty of slides, swiming pools and other water related actractions.
Usually queues are really too too too long and it can be very boring!
Go not too late in the morning and try to do your best at lunch time while all people are eating.
The city of Jaca, some 850 metres above sea level, was the capital of the old kingdom of Aragon and is today a leading tourist resort in the heart of the Pyrenees. Jaca is a small city with good communications and with an important artistic and historical heritage. Jaca offers a wide range of cultural events and services, including concerts, flea markets, exhibitions, conferences and congresses.
LLoret de Mar is littorial city on Mediterranean sea. This place have a lot of hotels, shops, countrers....The hotels are great with a very good kitchen. The beach is very long, with a miniature stones and it is clear.
Prices on counters are cheaper then a shops for same things. But, clarks are very attacking and you are, simple, must buy something. If you are planing to buy one thing you will buy less three!:) They will do everything to sell their stock - kiss you, sing for you, laugh for you, and of course reduced praces.
