MONTSENY NATURAL PARK
This is one of the activities that i always like to do when i have enough time to spend a morning and half afternoon here in Barcelona
Its a solid mountain 50 km from Barcelona (45 min aprox). there are a lor of things you can do, treeking above all, cultural museum , visit small and charm towns.
I usually take the motorway to France and exit in St Celoni- Montseny (exit 11)..from there i enter in this town and find direction to Sta Fe del Montseny 21 km going up the mountain. At the end there are a school museum, a bar restaurant... but i continue the way until a right curve where i leave my car.. from there there is a amzaing , lovely and calm track (on foot or bike)till the Turo de l'home (1712 m). Exceptional seesightof even Barcelona and Roses bay ( i ve seen that in a exceptional day, I swear it).
This way has 600 meters of pending, but its more comfortable and esy above all childs, without any dangerous step. I usually spend 55 minuts to climb up but more or less the medium is 1h 20 or 30m.
On the top of turo de l'Home there is another way to climb Les Agudes another easy mountain and 1h far on foot from the first top but its 1706m.. so its more or less without pending

I stayed in Girona and Barcelona for some days and rented a car for my trip. I travelled trhough Girona and went to Montseny Natural Park between Barcelona and Girona. This is quite near to the Costa Brava, so you can relax in the beach and discover lovely natural places near the coast, as Montseny. There are some rural accomodation, not very expensive and lovely.
I discovered a restaurant (local food) called La Vall del Montseny. It´s in the road of Montseny, in the village of Sant Esteve de Palautordera. The food was fantastic, from Catalonian and Castilia&Leon, mediterranean rices, vegetables, `parrilla´meat, goog cooking, not expensive!! We found there some cyclists having breakfast, and decided to reserve! the staff was so friendly and helpful!
Favorite Dish: I ate mediterranean rice and good meat!

60kms away from BCN city the best way to get Gualba is by car closer to Sant Celoni...the paththat runs from the main road to the village is simply amazing, stunning always overhead with rows of green trees in summer season and red and brown in fall.
The weather is wetter than not in barcelona due to the wrap of the mountain who offer a great place to stay for a day or hours in summer
