The care the City Council takes on the beach maintenance all year round is greatly intensified during the summer season.

The quality of the sand and the water, as well as the services they provide, have made it possible for the beach of Pineda de Mar to have been awarded in recent years the Blue Flag quality certificate.
There are three displays in several beach locations disclosing all information related to the Blue Flag, as well as the state of the beach.
Furthermore, during the summer season, in two sites along the beach, “l'Agència Catalana de l'Aigua” (Catalan Water Agency) displays information about the quality of sand and water that is weekly updated. Coinciding with the location of showers, there are also several ramps providing handicapped people access to the beach.Related to:

Fondest memory: We went for a nice walk to Pineda from the resort of Santa Susanna, where we had our holiday base.
It was nice to explore the old centre of Pineda, after seeing nothing but hotels for days.
Notice the Catalan flag hanging from the windows - the day we visited was the 11th of September - the Catalan National Day.
