El Pedró: menu del dia

by tessy

First, we didn't know if we should enter. El Pedro didn't look that nice from outside. But we were hungry, and - it was really worth! And I had the impression that there were also lots of locals eating We took the "menu del dia".First, we got some olives, bread and spanish specialties. We had the choice between several starters, main dishes and desserts and we got drinks. For all, we paid 9 Euro. And it was a great meal we got

Can-Pere,Anyos: delicious homemade food

by chazzie3366

Beautiful mountain views, this restaurant is in the tiny village of Anyos.Really pretty inside, decorated with soft colours, and a beautiful collection of antique mirrors. We ate a la carte, the menu is a black board which changes regularly different sauces and special dishes made by the chef, service was very relaxed and friendly which made us feel very much at home.We visited at the end of October 08,but after talking to the waitress she told us that from April onwards the chef goes out and picks his own wild mushrooms in the mountains.the food is very varried, alot of classic English dishes, steak and kidney pie, liver bacon and onions, also chinese dishes, indian, thai, italian, irish, french,to find all this in a tiny village in Andorra was quite a revalation, especially as we found most of what we ate in Andorra not very interesting.Quite a little gem dont miss it if you visit Andorra. And there...

Try the Local Snails

by DanielF

Cargols a la llauna (Snails on tin) is a speciality of Lleida province. Traditionally, the Snails were collected in the fields after rainy days, although nowadays many come from farms or are imported from somewhere else. The preparation is really simple: the snails are arranged on a tin tray and then baked with a drizzle of olive oil and salt. They are served directly on the tin tray accompanied with the necessary utensils: a pincer to hold the snail and a needle to extract the meat and dip it in one of the sauces provided, particularly allioli and romesco. Not apt for the most squeamish tourists, but I personally find them far tastier than the bigger, overly buttery Burgundian variety.

Restaurant at the Parador Aiguablava: A View to Whet Your Appetite

by cynapples

We didn't stay at the Parador, but we stopped in for lunch. The food was amazing, both in its taste and its presentation. The service was impeccable. Not a single thing was lacking. And then there was the amazing view of the Costa Brava. After lunch, we walked the hotel ground, got some amazing views of the Coast, and watched the seagulls flying in and out of the nearby gulch. If you are in the area, this is a must. The cost was a bit higher, but definately worth it. I don't recall what my main dish was, but I did have an amazing cream pumpkin or squash soup. There really wasn't anything from the appetizers to the deserts that we didn't like.

This is a very good restaurant next door to the Salvador Dali museum. The place is a typical Catalan masia, or old stone house. It is inside a hotel called also Duran. The food is wonderful and very original. It is not cheap! I was there because a rich man (the owner of caramels Chupa Chups) invited me. Jamon

Fragata: Seafood in Sitges

by jorgejuansanchez

Located in front of the maritime boulevard, besides the beautiful church. It is relatively small and the dishes are of design, that is, square with little food in them. Expensive, but all the good restaurants in the rich tourist resort of Sitges are expensive. seafood

Malambo: Argentina in Mataro

by jorgejuansanchez

This is one of the best Argentinean restaurant in Mataro, a city of about 100.000 persons at about 30 kilometres north of Barcelona. The owner is from Buenos Aires Argentina, and he himself cooks the meats and potatoes following the Argentinean way. They have all the Argentinean specialties, good wines, “dulce de leche” as dessert, beer Quilmes, sweet liquor “Legui” (so loved by the Tango singer Carlos Gardel) etc.Prices are moderated and the meat is imported from Argentina. meat
