Always remember that Barcelona airport is not the cheapest way to Sitges. Reus airport is just as easy and Ryanair is realy cheap at the moment with fares from £1.oo.
From Reus airport take the train 1 per hour to Villanova I Getru 35 minutes, then the train to Sitges 6 minutes fare E4.95 total return fare for us was only £ 55.00 including taxes and ryanair charges.

There are numerous trains that connect Barcelona with Sitges. It’s a short trip (about 30 minutes). A return Ticket is 4.50 euros. Take the train from Passeig de Gracia train Station or from Sants Station (trains direction to Sant Vicenç de Calders or Vilanova).

We arrived in time to board a train to leave Sitges, but it took so long for people arriving to get off the train that the doors slammed shut with us and another traveller stood on the platform. We had to wait another 30 minutes to make a 10 minute train journey. So my advice has to be push yourself onto the train - it's rude but it's better than having to wait for the next one (which will also be packed!!).

Easy to get here from Barcelona Airport by changing once.
Also easy to get into Barcelona, but trains do not run all night.

It is very easy to go by train to (and from) Sitges. From Barcelona there is a train almost every 30 minutes to Sitges. The ride takes about 40 minutes in modern comfortable trains.
Also the wiew from the window looking out at the landscape passing by is just worth the trip..........the train many times just goes very close to the beaches/Coast.

During off-tourist season, the return trains between Sitges and Barcelona end earlier than than mentioned in the guide books. Check the timings at the train stations. The guide books also state that there are hourly buses back to Barcelona after the train service ends, but this is only true during tourist season. There are no late night buses in the off-season and the first trains are not until early morning.

When travelling to Barcelona or just to the airport, be warned that they will charge you an extra 10 EUR for the motorway toll.
The meter says less but they will add this sum whether you like it or not. No use arguing- my friends tried and it didn;t work.
Still it;s not a fortune but good to know to avoid surprises.

The easiest and fastest way of going to Sitges from the airport is the taxi, but it's also the most expensive. The cost it's about 45-50 €uros, and it arrives in 20-25 min.
But you have also cheapest options.

You have to get down in El Prat de Llobregat, I mean the town, as the airport has the same name, it's the first stop just after the airport. In El Prat you have to take the train that goes to the South, direction to Vilanova i La Geltrú, it stops also every 30 min, at --:26 h. and at --:56 h.

You have to take a train direction to the North (Barcelona) and make the transfer in El Prat for taking the airport train. But be careful, as not all the trains stops in El Prat, the best thing that you can do is asking to the person who sales the tickets in Sitges station. Anyway, if you take the wrong train, you can take the airport train in Sants station, it departs from platform 10.
BY BUS -> The company is MON-BUS and the cost of the trip is 2,85 €. The trip is about 40 min. It's faster than the train because it goes directly to the airport
IMPORTANT -> From September, 9th of 2009, the airport bus stop it's at the T1 (the new one), if you want to go to the T2 (the old one, divided in A, B and C) you have to take a bus at the T1 for going to the T2.
You can find the time tables at the attached MON-BUS website.
