What do you do in Sitges? Beach! bake in the sun, swim, swim and swim.........Sitges is the nearest place from Barcelona with nice sandy beaches...aside from Barceloneta of course which is inside Barcelona itself.
We took the Renfe train for a half an hour ride from Barcelona Sants Estacio station.

Known as a seaside resort, Sitges offers many sandy beaches for the visitors. Beware though, during the high summer months, it can be quite crowded. Why wouldn't be with its nearly uninterrupted sunshine throughout the summer? Although free public beaches are available, for a small fee one could rent a comfortable mattress and an umbrella in one of the more "private" beaches.

The main gay nudist beach, in all the guides, is a really long walk from the town, heading west. What many guides dont say is that in the opposite direction there is a small nudist beach just 5 minutes walk from the town centre, mainly populated by gay men who don`t fancy the long walk. It amazes me that this is not better advertised.
The beach, or mabye the beaches are very clean and nice......there is also ofcourse special beaches for gaypeople right in the town, also outside Sitges.........

The sand is warm and the water is very good! Though it is better to avoid the warmest hours of the day (between 12am and 3pm)!

The main activity in Sitges is laying on the beach and bathing in the sea... It's so good to be lazy sometimes.

The water is warm enough to swim from april to october.
The beach is not very great, there are too many people , but it is a lovely view.
