Cim i Tomba is offered on several menus. It's a fish and potato stew and there was a special event planned just after we were due to leave...restaurants competing to make the best version of this dish! I didn't get to try it as it's a dish for two. We had an excellent paella instead, and on another night, Butifarra (Catalan sausage).

Numerous restaurants are located near the beach, right at the marina. They're expensive as you need to pay for the view. IMHO it's better to go a little deeper into the town and have a decent lunch at a decent price there.

Generous helpings of carefully made curries, excellent value for money and no morning after effects!
Basic surroundings very clean though with helful staff and a somewhat eccentric chef.
Staff are happy to sit with the patrons at the end of the night and chat about everything except the weather.
Favorite Dish: The chicken curry, boring I know, but a good indicator to the standard provided in the establishment.
Returning a few nights later it was the steak cooked to a very high standard, far too many chips though.

PHOTOS FROM OUR STAY IN TOSSA........
Prices were reasonable, and the local wines were a pleasure to drink. We found having a ½ litre with lunch and full litre with dinner just perfect for us. There are lots of artesian pizza places, tapas cafes and gift shops. Why are the 10-inch pizzas throughout Europe so much better than any pizza in the States? After dinner, we learned to drink a ‘cortal’ – espresso with cream. We ate some wonderful tapas for light breaks, such as anchovies over green tomatoes. We were served a bowl of olives at one place and Joan, being a lover of olives, stated these were probably the best olives she has ever tasted.

We ordered the fish soup and monkfish there. The seafood here is much more fresh and delicious than what we had in Barcelona. Mr. waiter is very friendly and he told us that lots of people in Barcelona drove to tossa de mar in weekend and holidays for seafood.

Fantastic lunchtime deals at this very friendly restaurant. 14.90 euros for the Menu del Dia which is a bit more than what you pay at the places surrounding the beach but the quality and freshness of the food is worth it.
For that you get 3 courses including wine, water and bread and the fish suggestions are superb and they even rustled up an Arroz Negro for us for the same deal even although it wasn't on the Menu del Dia.
Service is extremely friendly and it's location is superb. It's the last restaurant on the way up to the see the small beach and viewpoint on Portal and is much cheaper than the others on that stretch. It is a very romantic setting
Favorite Dish: Arroz Negro, small fried fish, grilled baby squid and Crema Catelana.
