Favorite thing: In that page, I'm not writing exactly about Viella, I write about La Vall d'Aran, the area that has Viella for its capital.
La Vall d'Aran is placed in the north west of Catalonia (Spain), just in the Pirinean Mountains touching France.
Fondest memory: This last summer (2002), was the 3rd that my family and another one (friends), went to La Vall d'Aran, for me was the 2nd.
We stay in a small housed lost in a valey far from the civilization :-)
5km far away from a village, but we took 20 minutes to get there, because the small "road" isn't very good.
What I like the most of that place is its magical views... high mountains surrounding a beautiful valley with small villages of friendly people... under a summer blue skie.

Favorite thing: There are nice little stone houses near the mountain paths. And if you are a hill-goer you will find useful shelters too.

Vielha is the main town of Valh d'Aran, a region located in Pirineus mountains. Here you can do infinite excursions through the mountains, skying, culture and culinary travels, and how not, relaxing....

We only drove thru here several times, on our way up and down the mountain, as our timeshareexchange was several villages further UP. But we did spend most of one day walking around and ate a good......
