Ninanino is a friendly shop where you can find children clothes and any kind of accessories. There are also bedclothes and cushions, etc. Everything is wholly handcrafted and hand painted. Fabrics are 100% cotton.
Ninanino, in the center of Alicante, is the ideal place to buy a different and original gift.

What to buy: Dresses, t-shirts, bathrobes and towels, bed linen, cradle accessories, cushions…

Mecadillo de Campoamor: Where to find quality at bargain prices
BlackTshirt profile photo

BlackTshirt 19 reviews

It's an outdoor market in Campamor, near Plaza de Toros in the centre of the city. It's open from 8 to 2 on Thursdays and Saturdays. You can find foods that are fresh from the countryside, clothing, shoes, belts, artwork, suitcases, and half the population of the city. Check out the produce - there's always something in season.

What to buy: For gifts to return with, get some Turrón, a sort of nut candy they're been making here for hundreds of years.

What to pay: 15 euros will be too much for a day's shopping.

El Corte Ingles: Advice for men

Here's a weeze to avoid countless hours shopping : direct you better half to El Corte Ingles. They use two large buildings near the train station (one for fashion the other furnishings) and have taken over a number of nearby units for various offshoots of the main store such as electricals.

Despite the name (it translates as 'The english cut'), it is the most Spanish of companies, and many see it as part of the very fabric of the nation. As it tries to cater for all, its interesting to see what the Spanish mainstream likes to spend it's money on.

Everything you may care to buy can be bought here; all in one place ; job done ; now - where's the bar ?

Central Alicante

Alicante has a decent number of shops for visitors, and you can easily spend a whole day walking the city centre shops. Explore the streets between La Rambla and Avenida de Federica Soto, up to Avenida de Alfonso El Sabio.

Alicante is a city with its own life, so the stores are what you would expect in a city which doesn't only live on tourism.

Shopping in Spain

There are many places to buy things in Alicante. Probably the most famous is "El corte de Ingles" it is a huge department store, with just about everything you could need. But it is quite pricey.
Zara and Mango are spanish fashion institutions, they have great trendy fashions, Mango is the pricier of the two, Zara can be a little bit expensive, but if you go up to the top floor (there are 3) then the clothing is quite a bit cheaper.

What to buy: There are also lots of great market stalls set up down by the ocean. If you are looking for little tourist collectable type things, this is the place to go.
