In Alicante you will find a lot of nice beaches in the city, and also in all the province.I'll tell you a few of the best:
In the downtown you can find a medium size and very nice beach just next to the harbour:
EL POSTIGUET. Other beaches just outside the city are:
PLAYA DE LA ALBUFERETA
PLAYA DEL SALADAR
PLAYA DE SAN JUAN (the largest and most known)
And of course in the `province:
PLAYAS DE BENIDORM
TORREVIEJA
GUARDAMAR
DENIA
CALPE
JAVEA. and a few more!!
Picture taken at Postiguet Beach.
In this square is the back façade of the Town Hall, with a nice door (in the picture). From this square the old quarter is acceded; the pedestrian Calle Mayor drives to La Rambla; following the opposite direction, calle Villavieja drives to Santa María church and Museo de la Asegurada.
There are many restaurants with terraces in the square. Sometimes there is a street market of craftwork.
If you visit Alicante during spring or summer, you can practice any kind of water sports as:Canoeing,Kayaks,Water Skiing,Fishing,Scuba Diving,in the beaches of the city and also in a few of them along the coastline.(some of them also available on wintertime).
The seven kilometre long PLAYA SAN JUAN is located in a residential area, which is lively in the summer months and generally peaceful during the rest of the year. It was certainly quiet the day we were there. Most of the shops and restaurants were closed for the season with perhaps one restaurant open and you can imagine that it was busy there.
There are many facilities including volleyball nets, children's playgrounds, beach bars ( chiringitus ) and dozens of restaurants.
The Beach was about a fifteen minute walk from our accommodations at Mont Royal.
The basic sight of Alicante certainly is the sea. A beach - sandy. To bathe in April is still early. Therefore I have only admired an evening view at the sea. Lights of hotels and restaurants were romantically reflected in waves...
A beautiful beach promenad along Playa de Postiguet. Here is the meeting place for everyone during the religious feast in honor of San Juan to watch a spectacular fireworks. From here, you will also enjoy the imposing structure of Santa Barbara Castle.
Beaches are always a pleasant area not only to do sunbathings. This is a vast beach full of fine white sand. Has an array of services and facilities. One of the perfect area of Alicante to enjoy views around the place. Has a longitude of 900 meters and 50 wide. Right in the city centre, and boasting a palm-lined promenade. Situated next to the leisure district at the city's marine complex and is very neat and clean.
This beach is to the northwest of the city, between the Serra Grossa mountains and Tossal de Manises in an area of important archaeological sites. In fact, it is here that the city originated.
It is a small beach of fine, golden sands amid the residential development of the same name. This is one of the most popular holiday spot amongst local people of Alicante.
The Beaches in Benidorm. There are 2 different beaches separated: the LEVANTE beach (LEVANTE means: where the sun comes up) and the PONIENTE beach (PONIENTE: where the sun goes down).
Just walk to 'el Castillo', where you have a great view over both beaches.
Hi All,
On this strectch of beach you have the choice of all sorts of beaches. From Postiguet with the huge Boulevard and marina. To el Campello...its tiny beach with right behind it a picturesque boulevard.
But the best beach by far is San Juan. A beach with a depth of nearly 90 meters of white fine sandy beach. The best thing to me is water. Its gently sloping beach with very relaxing surf...truly enjoyable place to swim and hangout.
What truly impressed me here is the cleanliness of the beach and sea.
These are popular beaches and it's also a favourite hangout for the locals. The area in foront of macdonald seems to be the place of choice for a lot of young locals.
A great place to hangout.
PS the locals seems to head to the beach around 3/4pm and stay till late.
COming in spetember...it was not corwded at all.
