AlteArte: Evening in the Old Town
This is a great little bar tucked away off the steps up the hill. Its run by the American Sara and her Spanish husband David, and they certainly make you welcome. We visited with our friend who has just moved to Altea and we felt so at home. The bar is very cute with a small mezzanine where you will find some board games should you ever get fed up with talking and people watching.
The bars signature drink is the Mojito. Id never had one before but it was delish!
They also serve a range of teas and non alcoholic drinks.
They only serve drinks but we were also given a lovely supply of small tapas to accompany them olives ,cheeses, yum yum!
The bar opens at 5pm and goes on into the small hours.
We were lightweights with our twelve year old who was also welcomed and enjoyed his NO-Jito ie non alcoholic drink so we headed back down the hill early each time but I gather its quite a cool laid back crowd that gather until the early hours. Don't miss it.
Dress Code: Casual or as you wish.
La Mascarada: Champagne bar
Champagne and cocktail bar, you see it immediatly because of the golden statues on the balcony. Nice place with a nice atmosphere.
