Favorite thing: adding to the million people and the traffic all summer months, the heat is almost unbearable. in fact the week i spent there the temperature day or nite reached every day between 30º to 35º. very hot any hour of the day or nite. got to be at the beach ( no problem ) and bathing all the time. keep drinking water or if you may,and you are on vacation, lots of beers. even at nite the heat was huge. light clothing is the answer. and sitting at the sidewalk "esplanadas" and have a nice ice cream. never had so much heat in any of my vacation. i asure you.

Favorite thing: In the Plaza Triangular, at the Benidorm Centre end of the Avenida Mediterráneo and just in front of the huge rubber tree is a tourist office kiosk. Ask them for a copy of the map showing the routes and numbers of the urban bus service including those out of town. The timetable of all routes is included. We think you will find it really useful.
They have plenty of glossy brochures on the area too.

Favorite thing: Drive half an hour out of Benidorm and you forget the bright lights, all of a sudden you are in Spain! Drive a bit further and you arrive at this beautiful little village Guadalest. Even though it is very touristy it still retains a real spanish feel. There are lots of small souvenir shops and cafes, museums to look round and views that are spectacular.
Fondest memory: My fondest memory will be walking through the cobbled street of Guadalest. The thing I will miss the most is the entertainment in Benidorm the comedians had me in stitches I have not had such a good laugh in ages. I visited Benidorm previously 33 years ago and found it quieter than I did then, the police were always driving round hence there were no problems while we were there. A great place to visit for all ages, from 9 months to 90 years there is something for everyone.
British people just love...
Favorite thing: British people just love Benidorm, all other foreign tourists are clear minority. There are some dutch and scandinavian, even the germans are not visible in the british mass. I think this is also only choise for people from Madrid to see the beach:)
Favorite thing: The high appartment blocks and hotels of Benirdorm are for many he expression of bad taste and uncontrolled development. Maybe, but such places must exist and Benidorm provides entertainment for a low budget all year round and to all kinds of people. What else can you ask for?
Besides, even none of the particular buildings is a work of art in itself, the ensemble with the Serra Gelada in the background makes a beautiful skyline.
Favorite thing: The tip of the rock where the town was born has been transformed into a nice promenade with a viewing platform from where you can enjoy spectacular sunsets as well as the unmistakable profile of the small Benidorm's island.
East-coast of Spain
Favorite thing: Because Benidorm is located at the East-coast of Spain you can join the beautiful sunrises overthere. Just a few hotels in the little harbour, centre of Bendirom, do have the exact sight to the East, so you just have to look out of your window to enjoy the Benidorm sunrise ...
Fondest memory: Also some other spots along the coast can witness to this phenomenon and I got lucky to watch the Benidorm sunrise over the Mediterranean, with the Full Moon in perspective, is amazing huh ...
Thank you Benidorm, ... never forget these touching moments.

Picture sunset at Benidorm.
Mountains around Benidorm.
Favorite thing: Benidorm,it is located in the coastiline, but also the mountains are very close. You can find very nice little villages and beautiful landscapes exploring all mountains around Benidorm.
This picture was taken in one of most visited villages in Spain: GUADALEST,located just outside of Benidorm. Here you'll see some awesome views!!.
Favorite thing: Benidorm is very well known for its famous beaches. Thanks to our very nice weather even during wintertime,is one of most visited spots in Europe.
We have two main beaches: Levante Beach, this is the largest and best beaches in the town.Along the sea promenade you'll find some of the best hotels and apartament buildings in the city. Also there are lot of shops and restaurants.
The other is Poniente Beach located just next to Parque de Elche and the harbour. This beaches finish in Cala de Finestrat.During summer season I prefer to go to Poniente Beach because it is not very crowded as Levante Beach.
Between the two main beaches,we got also another small and very nice beach,it is Playa del Malpas. This is a picture taken here.
Levante and Poniente Beaches
Favorite thing: Normally mostly of the hotels that Benidorm has,are located on the two main beaches,or very close to them. Also you'll find a few small ones located on the old town.
Many people use to have a swim here even during wintertime, thanks to our nice and warm weather.Don't be surprised if you come here for a vacation on January or Febraury and see people having a swim in our beaches!. :-)
Mirador del Castillo
Favorite thing: This is MIRADOR DEL CASTILLO,AND THE GEYSER,also konwn as the Balcony to the Mediterranean. With no doubt, this is the best viewpoint in Benidorm!.From here you'll see some beautiful views of both beaches and also the Mediterranean Sea and Benidorm's Island. Is one of most visited places in Benidorm.
Not a young person's destination (in the winter)
Favorite thing: The last time I was in Benidorm during the winter I was a good twenty years younger than the average person walking around! And I am considerably older (50) than you. I asked some of the local shopkeepers and they told me that Benidorm in the winter was very popular for seniors tours. I'd try Calpe, Denia, or Gandia...if I had my heart set on the Costa Blanca. Good luck.
Fondest memory: Summers when I was an Air Force member stationed in Madrid.
