once in Benidorm you should visit the island. 10 minute boat ride from the port and you can have the splendid views of Benidorm skyline. a marine reservation on the waters around, that you can visit beneath and take a look at the fishes and underwater life. note: somehow disapointing the fishes thou'... if you already did some good snorkling well, just stick to that memorie and avoid the visit they organize to visit the life underwater. seing Benidorm skyline should be suficient.

    Benidorm Island

We were looking for a boat to take us to Calpe, but we ended up paying 10 euro each to go to Benidorm island. Included in the fee was a short trip once on the island in a sub aqua boat where you can see some underwater sealife. There is a cafe on the island that serves snacks and drinks and there is a path to the top of the island. Another feature of the island is that it is a bird sanctuary and home to the very rare Mediterranean Yellow legged Gull and other seabirds such as the Storm Petrel etc.

    Big tree

The central square of Benidorm. On this picture you see a tree that people in Belgium have in their homes. Most people here don't have any idea that they can become so big in Spain. Here in Belgium it is just a nice plant.By the way on the square are lots of other things and sometimes special events like a book market, artisanal products market, xmas market etc.

Benidorm island not really much to see, but,if you have some time left go with a glass bottom boat from Benidorm harbour to the island. On the island are only peacocks and other birds. You have a magnificent view .The whole coastline of Benidorm is visible.

The poniente beach is one of Benidorms white sandy beaches. Most of the times it is not so crowded as the levante beach, especially if you go further away from parc elx. A minus for this beach is that behind the boulevard is a big highway.

    View of Benidorm

This was the view I got from the place where I was staying at. I have been told that up there in the mountains you can see the gap between the rocks which is where the island originated from. Apparenlty the huge boulder rolled out to sea to form the island which we can now see today. I'm not sure if that is accurate though as I didn't get to visit the island at the time.

    Gomez at the beach

The beach is very long so on a hot summers day this place is often very busy. Be sure to take some sandals if you want to walk around on the beach as the sand gets extremely hot. In the background is the island just off the coast, which you can get boat trips to. On your way along the beach you will probably notice many beautifully crafted sand sculptures, which I think you needed to pay a little money if you wanted to take a picture.

Benidorm proudly boasts two of the biggest, cleanest and most popular beaches in Spain. The two huge sweeping crescents stretch for a total of 6 kilometres and are known as "Levante" and "Poniente" - Spanish for sunrise and sunset. With consistently high quality Blue Flag bathing water, lifeguard patrols, a wealth of water sports and beachfront cafes, the beaches of Benidorm can rival the best in the world.

This is the best viewpoint in all Benidorm, because you can see very nice views of both beaches,Island and the Mediterranean sea.

It is located on the old town, next to San Jaime Church. As I said in the page intro, this is one of most visited places in all the city, everyone that come to Benidorm for first time, must go to to Mirador del Castillo and see the awesome views!.
You must to go downstairs to reach the lookpoint.

    BENIDORM'S ISLAND

This is a nice view of Benidorm's Island taken from Mirador del Castillo.

To go to the Island you must take a boat in the harbour, there are lots of them during all day long, and when you arrive there you can stay the time that you wants. Then you can take another one there in the small harbour that the island has to return to Benidorm.

A part of a small rock beach the only building that you'll find there is a restaurant. No one lives there, just the peacocks and other animals, well is also called Pea cocks island.

One of best things that you can do here specially during summertime is scuba diving, there are some wonderful underwater views and probably you will see lots of nice fish and other marine species.

    Benidorm Beach

There are two beaches in Benidorm, the Levante Beach, which fronts the new town, is larger and Poiente beach which front the old town. These beaches are very nice.. .very wide with plenty of sand. The cleanliness of them are superb, but with daily clean ups, you can see why. They are some of the cleanest beaches in all of europe. All along the beaches, play areas for the kids, which helps out as extra entertainment if you have children.

This is a new theme park in Benidorm,it was opening on May of 2.005.
This is another nice place to spend a day in family.
It is like an huge open zoo,it has four areas or zones: Pangea,Asia,Europe and America,in each area you will fine animals and flora from its continent.I liked the best the Asia area with the asians tigers and elephants and America area for the nice shows and plants and nature around,i enjoyed specially the huge place for exotic birds, they were placed like in a beautiful mexican rainforest,it was great!!!.

This is a picture taken at Asia area.

The trip to the island was very funny because I have never seen seagulls sitting in cactus! So the island was just filled with these segulls and cactus but I think the highlight was taking the scuba boat with glass floor (included to the price). Sea life under the island acttacts many divers and now I know why.
Seeing Benidorm coast from the sea and taking nice skyline pictures from the top/boat makes the trip worth the money.
