    This is another interesting place to see during your visit to Guadalest.It is called El Arca de Noe,or Animal Sanctuary,like a nice and small zoo located on the mountains.Almost all wildlife that you can see here have been injured or having an illness,so this is also a health recuperation center for wildlife.It is located just outside of Guadalest town in the main road to Alcoy.

    Next to Guadalest,another nice small village between mountains,it is Benifato,don't miss a visit to this nice village!.Around you can find also a lot of good restaurants with local cuisine.This is a general view of Benifato,enlarge to see it in full size.

    The musts are few - ruins of the Castle built sometime in 18C which are on the very top of the hill, plus bell tower and museum of local history, which is actually obligatory, coz you can't visit the castle without passing thru the museum, however the collection of antiques, which survived the severe fire, which happend in the village a couple of centuries back, and were collected in the Casa, as well as some contemporary paitings, might be of deep interest to someone... though it wasn't to me :)))

    Here you can see another picture taken at Guadalest lake.From the lookpoint you'll see some nice views of the lake and mountains around.I'm not sure if is allowed to fishing here because this lake is used as a water reservoir,and almost all water that we need on Benidorm area comes from here.

    Can be found on the top. Only accesable through a carved tunnel in the rocks. The view over the surroundings is fantastic.

    I didn't find this a very exciting museum, actually its boring and there is nothing to see. Ok for a laugh.

    On the rock you see on the picture, located near the village of Guadalest, you find on top the ruins of the Benimantell Castle. Its one of the ancient forts that were used to defend the city.

    The Dam was built between 1953 and 1964. Its very important for the surrounding towns and villages including Benidorm. The water that you use over there comes from this place.

    This small church with belltower on the top of the hill; is the true landmark of Guadalest. You can see it from a distance of a few kilometers when you visit Guadalest.
