The vineyards

We visted this Bodega on a hot June day and we were not disappointed. The Cava is so elegant and quite delicious. We bought a number of cases.

Hot days!

This typical view of the Requena area is so lovely - hot but green and the wine... welll that's something else!

Village houses...as the Spanish do!

Favorite thing: Requena is the most delightful town to walk around. The fascinating history starting with the Romans and then the Moors naming the city Rakka'na, meaning "strong". During the Inquistion a huge underground complex was built for the villagers to hide and where they made enormous wines barrels of clay and fired them below ground. You can visit the underground caves complete with burial grounds and all manner of rooms. A little part of the wonderful fascination of the European continent on which I am very pleased to live.
