Driving in Spain is pretty safe .Hiring a car is a great way to see places.Driving in the countryside is relaxing, but in the cities it can be hectic.Toll roads are paid in cash or credit cards.European,US and Canadian driving permits are valid in Spain.You must carry two warning triangles, spare light bulbs,fuses and a spare tyre.Minimum driving age is 18 and some car hire companies you have to be 21.If driving down in your own car, make sure you have proper insurance and a greencard. Watch out for on the spot fines in Spain.Drink driving limit is 50mgs of alcohol per 100ml of blood.Speed limits are 75mph on motorways.Fuel is slightly cheaper than Uk but double of that in US.
