I discovered this new spot few weeks ago. Actually it was called "completo" before being transformed into a lounge-style luxury bar 2 months ago.
Of course the place is unique: a large open-air terrace close to the sea..., but we are in Spain in in spite of a lot of competition on this segment (Valencia is not barcelona yet), I can say the following:
- drinks are very (too) expensive,
- service is average,
- international crowd, but too many "posers"...
- music needs to be change (looping cafe del mar...)

We noticed that the centre of Valencia is more big on bars than clubs...some of the bigger clubs are on the city's outskirts so you really have to decide what you'd want to spend your money on: cabs to discos that can run 30euro in each direction, or lots of drinks in a local watering hole? Whatever your pleasure right??
Dress Code: As with anywhere else in Europe, if its on the runways, you can get away with it. If everyone is wearing slippers in a Spring 2005 show, you can guarantee that the clubs will permit you to enter with them too. There are the couple of more "stushy" places that require you to be all dolled up but they are far and few between.

This bar opens in the late afternoon and is a beautiful cultural backdrop against which to watch the world go by. The table service is prompt, but the bar does not serve food so we used to start the evening here and then move on later when we wanted to eat. Typically, Valencianos don't seem to stay in one place for the whole evening so we tried to follow suit.

I didn't experiance much night life while I was actually in the city, but i was recommended some great places to visit by my Agent. The places were; Barrio del Carmen, Avenida de Aragon, Plaza de Cannovas, Plaza de Honduras. These places are the most lively places within the city. Or if you prefer somewhere closer to the beach, then the Malvarrosa is apparently the place to be!

We found this place the first night and it had
the 'waw'-effect on us. It is an early 20th century
completely renovated market. But the fish ,
fruit and dried hams are gone and instead
there came some bars. Some specialized in
coffee , others serve beer and ...
There bars are completely in glass and
the lightning is superb.
If you still want to do some shopping , the
neighbourhood has some very posh shops
and on floor -1 there are some shops left.
A great place.

This club, owned by an Englishman, is located about 20 minutes drive outside Valencia and is where the locals go at around 3.30-4am once the bars in the city start to close. Hundreds of people actually drive there after a night of partying in bars, which is testament to the far less drink oriented culture of Valencia compared to the UK.

In the old town there are a lot of places to go dance. Some of them are genuine museums (+ or -)
Some owner expent thousand of euros restoring old buildings just for discos.
The picture is not a very good example of what I am telling but I like it inside.

In front of the Palau de la Musica, at the Turia Gardens, every night there is a free show with fountains moving and being lighted at the rythm of classical music.
I came across it by chance, so couldn't tell you the schedules and so. I saw it at 22:00.

This new cultural complex offers by night an incredible view. Most of the buildings (museums...) are closed by night, but they are all lighted, so a walk around the place can be a rewarding experience...

Valencia has exceptional nightlife. The district of the Barrio del Carmen comes to life at night with many bars a discotecs. Partying starts late and runs through to the following morning... if you are up to it.
You dont have to be expert dancers like VT members Russ (Phred1910) and David (Davidlop), they were trying hard to impress Sonja (Yumyum) with their moves.
